Eight questions about brand, prices, margin, data, support and gaps, with DripFunnel’s honest answers.

In short
  • Check how much of the brand is really yours: the merchant portal, the shop address, the emails and any “Powered by” line.
  • Make sure you set the prices, and that you can see your margin on every plan before you publish it.
  • Ask what you can see about your clients’ stores, and how you can help them without sharing passwords.
  • Ask about the gaps too: languages, payment methods in your clients’ countries, and integrations. A good partner tells you what isn’t built yet.

Choosing a white-label ecommerce platform is a long-term decision. Your clients’ shops will run on it, under your name, for years. Moving dozens of stores later is hard work for you and for them. So it pays to ask the right questions before you sign.

Below are the questions we’d ask, why each one matters, and how DripFunnel answers them today, including where we fall short. Use the list for any platform you’re comparing, whether you’re looking for a white-label Shopify alternative or your first ecommerce platform for agencies.

1. Is the brand really yours?

“White label” can mean anything from a logo in a corner to a product your clients never connect with the platform. Ask about each place your client looks:

  • The merchant portal: whose name, logo, colours and address does the client see when they sign in?
  • The shop: what address does the shop run on, and can the client use their own domain?
  • Emails: whose name do emails come from, and from which address?
  • “Powered by” lines: is there one, and can it be removed?

How DripFunnel answers: the merchant portal carries your product name, logos, colours and font, on your own address (for example store.youragency.com), with your support email, help centre and legal pages. Each shop gets a free address on my-store.one, and your client can connect their own domain. Emails go out in your name, with your colours and support contact; sending them from your own email domain is coming but not live yet. Whether the “Powered by DripFunnel” line can be removed depends on your contract.

2. Who sets the prices?

If the platform sets the price your client pays, you are a reseller with little room to move. Ask whether you can build your own plans, choose what each includes, and set your own prices in your clients’ currency.

How DripFunnel answers: you build your own plans in the partner console, with the name and description your clients see, the features and limits each includes (up to DripFunnel’s maximum), an optional free trial, and monthly and yearly prices in each currency your contract includes. See Create your plans.

3. What is your margin, and is it clear?

Ask how the platform charges you: per store, per order, per feature? A fee per order grows as your clients grow, which can eat into your margin just when things go well. Ask to see, for every plan, what the platform takes and what you keep.

How DripFunnel answers: your contract sets a wholesale fee for each store on each plan. When you type a price, the console shows DripFunnel’s fee and what you keep, and warns you if the price is below the fee. DripFunnel takes no fee on your clients’ orders.

4. Is the product good enough for your clients?

You will be the one answering when a feature is missing. Try the product as a merchant would: build a shop, add products, take a test order. Check the things your clients need most, such as payment methods in their country, delivery, tax and selling abroad.

How DripFunnel answers: your clients get the full DripFunnel portal: AI that designs the storefront from a description, catalogue, orders and shipping, offers, suppliers, selling abroad and reports. Compare plans on Pricing and see every feature on Features. Today, card and online payments are available to shops in India and the United States; ask us about other countries.

5. What can you see, and how do you help clients?

You need enough to run your business: which stores exist, which plan they’re on, whether they’re paying. You don’t need, and your clients may not want you to have, their customers’ personal details. And when a client is stuck, you need a safe way to look at their shop.

How DripFunnel answers: the partner console shows each store’s account, plan, status and totals such as last month’s sales, never its orders, customers or products. To help inside a shop, you open a support session: it only works if the client has support access switched on, it is read-only, it lasts 30 minutes, and it needs a reason and your own two-step code. Passwords, two-step sign-in, payment details and ownership can never be changed in a session.

6. Can your team work safely?

Ask about roles, two-step sign-in and a record of who did what. As you grow, more people will touch more stores.

How DripFunnel answers: your partner team has five roles: Owner, Admin, Support, Finance and Read-only. The owner can require two-step sign-in for everyone, and the activity log records what your team, support sessions and DripFunnel staff did. See Your partner team.

7. How do you get started, and how long does it take?

Ask what you need to prepare, who checks it, and how long approval takes. A platform that reviews partners protects you too: your brand appears next to theirs in every shop.

How DripFunnel answers: after a conversation about your plans, we agree your contract and invite you to the partner console. A checklist walks you through company details, branding, your portal address, the email sender, at least one priced plan and your legal pages. Then you submit for approval: we sign up as a test merchant, check your branding, plans and legal pages, and usually decide within 2 business days. If something is missing, we send it back with clear notes. See Become a DripFunnel partner.

8. What isn’t built yet?

Every platform has gaps. The question is whether they matter to your clients, and whether the platform tells you about them. Ask directly about languages, integrations and anything on your must-have list.

How DripFunnel answers, honestly:

  • The partner console, merchant portal and emails are in English only.
  • There is no partner-level API yet. Each shop has its own API keys and webhooks.
  • Sending emails from your own domain is coming but not live.
  • There is no side-by-side plan comparison in the console yet; you compare plans as you build them.
